Did you know that St. Martin's Episcopal School already has a large curricular and economic focus on a sustainable environment? St. Martin's teachers mentor St. M's students through intentional experiences in and out of the classroom and through their own community service, teaching them about economic and ecological sustainability so that they can be responsible stewards of the world's resources. Responsibility to our community is a major focus of our educational philosophy. It's in our Mission Statement, it's in our business plan, it's in our classrooms and it's in our hearts.

Lower School Loves the Earth!

Lower School Teacher Pam Brierre reports that, "today was paperless day. This week we also have a natural light day, planting day, recycling day and green day (wear green and think green)."  Along with her students, Pam is collecting plastic grocery bags to create a large, fused, plastic bag "Earth" that will have a motto along the lines of "There are some things we need to last forever."  This Earth is a companion piece to the paper Earth Lower Schoolers created last year from one day's paper waste.
